Jacob Lance comes into the world

Hey everyone! We finally had some time to sit down and tell our story of how our beatiful son Jacob entered the world. We're sorry it's taken so long...free time seems to no longer exist :) Well, the story goes...as we turned out the lights at 12:30 Friday night (July 11th), Tina got up to use the bathroom...again...and wouldn't you know it, her water broke! So we gathered up our bags and headed for the hospital. Little did we know we were in it for the long haul - all 27 hours of it! At 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning, Tina was only 1/2 cm dilated. By 6:00 p.m., she was 5 cm and by 10:00 p.m., she was 7. So what did we do all this time? Watched "Friends" DVDs, attempted to sleep, and Brandon coached Tina through hours of contractions. He was amazing...reminding Tina of the correct breathing, comforting her through the tough ones, and being a steady and loving presence throughout. By 1:00 a.m., now early Sunday morning, Tina had reached 10 cm and it was time to push. Two hours later, at 3:31 a.m., we met Jacob for the first time. It was an overwhelming experience for both of us. Brandon describes it perfectly - there hasn't been anything in our lives that has brought on so many emotions and changed our lives in the most perfect way and as immediate as seeing our son. He weighed in at 7 pounds 15 oz and measured 20 inches. He is an angel and we look forward for you all to meet him.
